My approach
I am passionate about holistic medicine. I have been involved in holistic medicine for over twelve years and am happy to share my experience and expertise with my community.
I am a general practitioner treating adults and children. I work with patients to treat a variety of conditions including menstrual and hormonal imbalances, sports injuries, acute and chronic pain, digestion disorders, seasonal allergies, immune disorders, emotional and psychological issues. Refer to the Commonly Treated Conditions page for a complete list of issues treated by Chinese Medicine.
My philosophy is that the natural state of the body is balance. Symptoms are messages that tell us that our body is out of balance. In fact, these symptoms can be the body's attempt to create balance. I encourage my patients' to move towards a feeling of appreciation for this attempt of our body to heal itself. Symptoms and disease can be a wake-up call that we are not living in a way that supports our body and that change is needed. With Chinese Medicine, we give our body the support that it needs to properly heal. Furthermore, with the appropriate changes we make in our daily life, we can move towards a path of optimal health.
My philosophy is that we can maintain radiant health through the choices we make in our daily lives, so I encourage my patients to create balance in their life. I focus a lot on nutrition because I believe that a healthy, whole foods diet is vitally important to health.
My approach is integrative. I work with your other health care practitioners to create a treatment plan to meet your health goals.
During our appointment, I will listen carefully to your needs and we will thoroughly discuss your condition. Through the course of our conversation, we will uncover the root of body imbalances. I will create a proactive treatment plan designed to restore harmony and balance in your body.
I believe in educating my patients so that they can be directly involved in their own healing process. I encourage you to trust and listen to your own body. Through this collaborative process, you will feel motivated to healthier ways of living to ensure a long, vibrant life
My office is a beautiful and professional healing space where patients feel comfortable and nurtured. Our office won the San Francisco Bay Guardian Best of the Bay, "Best Retreat Zone" in 2009. Our office was also featured in the Castro Courier newspaper. Read more about us: 543 Wellness in the Castro Courier.
I value diversity and am committed to create an environment that feels safe for all of my patients.
In my holistic approach, our connection to the earth is deeply respected. Our health is directly connected to the health of our planet. For this reason, I employ environmentally friendly practices in my office by using nontoxic and scent-free cleaning products, recycled paper products, and organic, preservative-free massage oils. Of course, acupuncture needles have a one-time use and then are disposed of in the proper biohazard ways. All efforts are made to reduce the amount of waste and to recycle and compost as much as possible. In my nutritional approach, I highly recommend eating organic, seasonal and local foods to promote our own health and the health of the planet.

What Clients Are Saying
C.P.
Daniela is a true gem! She has great energy about her, and her work is top notch. Some acupuncturists are not so gentle with the needles, but Daniela has a very soft approach that made me feel at ease immediately. She recently helped me with my knee injury and nasal congestion problems. She prescribed some wonderful herbs to help! Her office in conveniently located in the Castro too. She is a good one to work with in your daily wellness regimen.
